Hey guys. Long time no see, as usual. wink.gif I'm trying to make a movie in RCT3, called Genius, which may or may not turn into a series depending on the reaction it gets. The script is finished, enough sets are built to make a trailer, and not many people are following its progress. I figure this is a good time to put out a trailer to show people what it's going to be like, but I don't have any voice actors yet. I don't want to do a trailer without voices, because then people might get the impression that it'll have subtitles, and they take quite a bit away from the overall quality of the movie. So I've turned to one of the first forums I joined (if you count the old RCTPyro as being relatively the same thing as VPyro) to see if I can get a bit of help.

If you've seen the TV series Eureka, you'll know exactly what Genius is about. It's basically the same thing, just in RCT3 and with a bit of a twist. For those who don't know Eureka, here's the plot of Genius: Jeff Colton becomes the supervisor of a town called Bridgeport. It may seem like a good promotion at first, but Bridgeport is full of "super geniuses", as Jeff puts it. But they're not just super geniuses, they're scientists with access to everything and anything they need to do their experiments and, at least officially, come up with inventions that will make a better tomorrow. Jeff is let in on Bridgeport's biggest secret, but there is also disaster in the air. An explosion had killed the previous supervisor, and there is another explosion when Jeff arrives. Working with his new assistant, Larry Carter, and Al Montgomery (he has a lot of fun with those documents that make you write your last name first biggrin.gif ), the one person in Bridgeport who seems to know everything, Jeff figures out the cause of the explosions.

That's it for the pilot. If people like it when it comes out, then I'll make a second episode and keep it going until either the viewers get tired, I run out of ideas, or I just can't make any more episodes.

So I need some voice actors to voice the characters. I've had two offers over on Shyguy's World, but the one person who can do it for sure hasn't responded yet and the other one really wants to voice Al, but he has to find a mic first. I'm currently voicing Jeff because I want him to sound a certain way. But if anyone can act like Colin Ferguson or Mike Rowe, that's the type of acting I want for Jeff. If you can do that, I'll hand over Jeff's part to you.

Anyway, here are the characters:

Jeff Colton - Supervisor of Bridgeport; street-smart, but not book-smart. He often comes up with simple solutions, while everyone else overthinks the problem. (Akira san) For Eureka fans, Jeff is basically Jack Carter.

Jeff's Boss - Self explanatory. He's only at the very beginning of the show, so anyone who takes on this role only gets a few lines in the whole series (if it turns into a series). Don't worry, though. You can always get a different part later. (Open)

Sheriff Boyd - The sheriff of Bridgeport. His role is to explain the workings of Bridgeport to Jeff and to show him around. He's only in the beginning as well. After he drops Jeff off, he's done. I may bring him back later if I need him. But I'll let you in on a little secret: Jeff is basically the sheriff of Bridgeport, so I don't really need Boyd. Chew on that for a while. (Open)

Al Montgomery - He pretty much becomes Jeff's best friend. He's always willing to help Jeff and he "translates" from "scientific" speech to layman's terms for Jeff. Plus, he's like a point on a map when he writes his last name first. Who else can do that? (Held for Bogeybo on Shyguy's World) For Eureka fans, Al is pretty much like Henry. Bogeybo really wants this part, but he needs a new microphone and doesn't have the money to buy one. He's looking around for one that he can use, and asked me to keep it open for him. If you want this role, feel free to request it, but I can only give you the part if Bogeybo can't get a mic.

Larry Carter - Jeff's assistant. Not as keen as Al, Larry still helps Jeff, although sometimes he doesn't understand the reasoning that led Jeff to a conclusion. He'll offer to scan something to see if their hunch is correct, while Jeff's quicker solution will involve looking at something left on a desk. You get the idea. (Held for imagineer10) For Eureka fans, Larry is basically Fargo with a little more common sense. imagineer10 is on Shyguy's World, but he hasn't responded in a few days, so I don't know if he can follow through. If you want this position, feel free to request it.

Erick Mann - He also has a short part, but this time it's at the end. He blames Cyber Frontiers, the main scientific facility in Bridgeport (just like Global Dynamics in Eureka), for causing the death of his wife. Whoever takes this role will need to be able to sound angry. (Open)

Yeah, that's pretty much it. tongue.gif Any questions? Comments? I have some shots of the sets if anyone wants to see them.

Looks like something that could truly work well. I am representative of my school choir, attend starlight youth theatre, I have singing/acting rehearsals and lessons twice a week along with an extended session each weekend - so I can pretty much say I can help out. I will wait to see the responses you get just because my time is very limited with two major musicals coming up in which I carry a major part and a tour in the late-September season

Sounds like a good project to me!
I do like to do the odd bit of acting here and there, and I've done a bit of voice work in the past. I have a pretty decent mic too. Maybe I'll try out for Jeff's boss. smile.gif

Cool, thanks guys! To be honest, these are actually the best responses I've gotten so far on three forums. And the other two had pictures of the sets.

Lewtheo, I'd really appreciate it if you could help, but of course the musicals should come first. There haven't been a whole lot of responses, but I'm hoping that a trailer will help turn that around. People really seemed to like Vodhin's RCT3 Players, so I have a feeling that something of the sort can happen with this, once they see the potential.

Whiteout, thanks a ton! If you do want to try for Jeff's boss, I have a part of the script ready for an audition of sorts.

Thanks Tom. I was planning on getting as many RCT3 players as possible, and then using other sites dedicated to voice overs to fill in any left over positions. From the looks of it, I'll be needing them. At least now I know where I can start.
