In general you will pay much more for the same specs as you would for a PC for gaming. if you buy a mac worry about how you want to use it, don't just buy something to game on. What else would you use it for besides gaming?

Very correct Dean, they have excellent graphics card, I'd more lean to the higher iMac line to get the extra graphics performance.

They have a dual core processor, good graphics card, good amount of memory to run XP on, great size screens too - 20" and a 24"!

If you could afford it, and want excellent graphics, I'd go for the iMac 24" second one, its a bit hefty but its got great specs

2.8GHz Intel
Core 2 Extreme
2GB memory
500GB hard drive1
8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory

The reason why I've not recommended a mac pro, is because Windows XP hardly supports quad core correctly, and Vista is a disaster OS, and would drop your FPS really low therefore you may as well have a dual core computer, which XP is quite adequate at handling. I must stress that buying a Mac and using XP, you still get all the viruses, crashes, and the occasional BSoD, but then again, you should be OK because you'd probably be using OS X to browse websites etc.

I have an old iMac 24" (well, it's the model before these new black ones) and it works great with games. I've got XP on a 50gb partition and run pretty much all games from Steam (hl2, css, tf2, gmod etc). My XP screws up often and it will crash after a certain amount of time with a BSoD... cheers Microsoft.

Just don't do what other people do, and literally replace OS X with Windows, because that's retarded. They are expensive, but when you get one you'll find out it's worth every penny - and more. wink.gif

It is most likely they were planning to do that anyways :-)
