I've been working on a new 3D version of ShowSim that has the same effect quality as RCT, only is a dedicated fireworks design program that is far easier to use than RCT. I have some demo clips I wanted to post, but I can't seem to get good quality WMV files from the original uncompressed AVI files that my program creates. The sound and video are output by ShowSim in a large AVI file that has the same quality as what appears in real time, except the files are huge. I've tried a few programs to convert the AVI down to smaller frame sizes with compression, but the results suck. Does anyone know of a good program for doing this? Xilisoft is the best stand-alone converter I could find, but even the quality on that one is terrible compared to the orignial file. Some of the RCT videos I see on here are nice yet still small in size, so I'm wondering what software was used to make these videos?

Almost all the videos you see here are done using the ingame recording, and then render with Windows movie Maker or Vegas or the likes...

Vegas worked awesome, thanks for the tip. I guess the lesson here is that the stand-alone converters out there aren't worth much. I tried several different ones and they all did a botch job.
