Currently, I don't like how the country is run. We need strong people in the positions of power. Not weak idiots in suits who promise but don't deliver.

Discuss.

Life in the U.S. is bearable as long as some good is elected to President next year and can also get us out of this terrible war with the Middle East. And like you said, the President or Prime Minister need to deliver and not just promise.

I wish that one thing in our elections was like the French: the French candidates each get an equal amount of campaign money that they can use. If that was the way it was in the U.S., there would be more chance of a qualified person (man or woman) running the country and less chance of an unqualified millionaire filling the position (not saying all millionaires are unqualified).

That's just one little thing that I think would improve the way America is run, I know there are many more things that should be done tongue.gif.

That would be nice if all of the candidates had the same amount of campaign money.

There is an election soon in Australia and you know what, I don't like either major party. One of them will get in the trouble is finding the one I don't like the most, and that would be our honest john. Selling our public property so you can look like you have a major budget surplus does not make me want to vote for you. If you are going to sell something you need to give something back in greater or equal value. My hospital bills didn't get any cheaper, in fact they got more expensive(not that I went to hospital in the last 3 years, but I did take some people for broken things, tsk tsk don't fall off that ladder) and it was twice as much as it was 4 years ago when i broke my arm, whats the deal there?

My roads aren't getting any better, yet im paying a higher FUEL TAX than ever(its a % based system 40% of our fuel cost is tax and fuel tax was meant for spending on roads). GST what a pain in the ###### system that is. you mean to tell me you removed sales tax and stamp duty and only have 10% across the board, NO WAI, thats right stamp duty is still there.

Interest rates are fine, I am finished paying off my house. I hope they go up so the money I have invested goes up.

yeah they are my problems with the government but I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world (except maybe Canada for lots of snow!!)

oh yeah /end rant

It's bearable here in the U.S. only if you have a good job.

They should put out signs in the U.S. saying:

The American Dream!
Get it by WORKING really HARD!

That should make a clearer message of what President Bush wants us to do...
