Over my summer i am considering a working holiday(read 12-18 week snow trip). I am still undecided on where i want to travel to. Canada sounds good. Does anyone have any experience with other snow resorts around the world. Flights and travel must not exceed over 3k AU return from Perth Western Australia (which covers pretty much the the entire world($2000-$2500 from Perth to Vancouver, right next to whistler BC!).

There are good ones all over the place, so hard to decide. What is handy, reasonably close to a major city(read Airport), within 8 hrs drive. Village Close to the snow, I don't want to drive 30 mins every day. Good snow, plenty of terrain, i like to explore. Nice relaxed atmosphere, you will get that at most places. A good night life, once again, most places.

Sierra Nevada is so far away of where I live... I live in Huelva and Sierra Nevada is in Granada (I went with my class mates 4 years ago) ..... But don't worry about the language... there is so many [touristyc guides??] that speak English.... and so many english-speaking people too

If you want snow I can't meet you....... cry.gif sorry

Definately not! smile.gif

You could come to Colorado or Montana in the States. Some good ski resorts here. Winter Park and Vale in Colorado or Red Lodge and Bridger Bowl in Montana. Good places!

Red Lodge is probably the closest I know to a major city and airport, Billings, Montana, where I live. If you don't want to drive 30 minutes a day, Red Lodge is not just a ski resort but a good sized town, and you wouldn't have to leave there till you wanted to.

So i was speaking with my brother about this yesterday and he was really interested(fair enough who wouldn't want to go on an extended snow trip). Anyway we decided just to take a 6 week holiday, rather then work. tis a shame but If I am barely going to break even(flights acom food ect) i may as well burn my money quick and come home and earn some real cash, $6k au for 6 weeks abouts, not a bad deal. That cost comes down when i sort out some deals ect. Could take $1.5k off per person.
