bye.gif Greetings everyone. I'm D, 25, west London. I've been obsessed with RCT since the original was released, back in -what was it? '98? '99? -ages ago, anyway.
I thought it had peaked with RCT2, and due to having a crap PC didn't upgrade to RCT3 till about a year ago. I got both add-ons at the same time and was looking forward to being amazed...

...and the I realised the lag issues! I soldiered on with it, but it wasn't until I got myself a spanking-new-games-only-PC a few months ago that I really started to explore the game deeper.

And so it came to pass that about a week ago I started playing with the Mix Master! Boy, this is a whole game in itself! I work in Television lighting, so this sort of thing is just up my street.

Anyway, I put together a display to The Grid's 'Swamp Thing', and was quite chuffed with it. Then I found Some videos on YouTube and was put right back in my place! A few Googles later and here I am.

I'm looking forward to spending several hours going through all these tutorials and learning how to make my own fireworks etc.

err....... any questions?

Welcome! It sounds like you have great interest and potential in using the mixmaster. Good luck, and make sure you also try out the advanced fireworks editor! Maybe you might be good at creating custom fireworks, who knows?

If you plan to make your own pyro I strongly suggest you set up a dual install, it is nearly impossible to create usable stuff in anything but vanilla.

Cheers guys. I downloaded your amazing fireworks pack last night, and got buzy creating. I did a little piece to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now. It's uploading to YouTube as I type. I'm Guessing there is a specific thread for that somewhere?

I think I'm gonna be more into the lazer and lighting side of it than custom particles (it all seems far too long winded for now!) But I'm sure I'll get round to that sooner or later.

Lasers and Lighting are not RCT3s strong suite, and the AFE cant do them very well either. I am a lighting and projection designer for major theatrical shows and events so I like to play around with the systems and have tried to develop AFE methods, but nothing works that great. So you will really have to rely on pyro to hold up any show, lasers and lighting will be suplementary.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't like the fireworks! But it was the lazers that made me go 'OOOOOOOOOH, LOOK!' first!

I know what you mean about being limited though. I work with just about every kind of automated light in use these days (except actual lazers- H&S won't let us cry.gif ), so there are plenty of things I'd like to be able to do but can't.

On the plus side, my Vid is now up on YouTube. It's posted in the 'completed work' section, but here it is anyway:
