Here are a few software recommendations for all you at RCTPyro. (Windows Only)

Antivirus:

Symantec Antivirus v10. (pay unfortunately), Norton Antivirus is good, or ClamAV from www.clamwin.com (free)

Firewall:

Windows MS XP SP2 Firewall and IPCop (free)

Spyware/Adware Protection:

Spybot S&D

Hijackthis

It's not a program, but If you've got a spyware problem, I'd highly recommend the forums at www.spywarewarrior.com - the people there are extremely helpful and have LOTS of experience. They'll analyse your HijackThis logs and give you step-by-step instructions for cleaning up your PC. And it's free.

The reason macs do not have viruses is not because of how secure it is, it is the same reason as what ledhedgn said. No one bother's because there is no valuable data on them. For example, servers are pretty much all Windows or a form of Linux (I know macs use a form of Linux but it is quite a bit different). Also, like Jordan said, it is not mainstream enough. No hacker can be bothered to write a program to spread among ht emac users when you can write one for Windows users and infect a huge portion of the world.

It is the same as why there are no viruses for pocket pcs (there are two but only proof on concepts) as the userbase is so small and would take some time for a lot to be infected.

The main trouble is that apple are allowed to build in secruity features into their operating systems but as soon as Microsoft try to, they get sued. It is like with Vista, the most secure operating syste, by Microsoft, so much so, the antivirus companies have to hack the OS so that their software can run on it!!!

EDIT: Oh and if you want a good antivirus, which is also free, try Avast. It is brilliant.

Antivirus:
AVG Free is a good one. Get it at http://free.grisoft.com/

Not-so-live Support:
I can provide assistance with removing Spy Sheriff, that thing that turns your desktop blue, AND the blue desktop
I can also provide assistance if the desktop color is locked to black or white.

McAfee virus protection is what I use, and it restored my PC after a long list of trojans crawled in. I would definitely say it's worth the money.
